Active Daily Living aims to work with you to achieve independent and long-term exercise adherence by designing programs that are manageable and achievable, as well as-intrinsically motivating as one achieves personal success. That is why Active Daily Living comes to you. We will begin by working from your environment (home, park, …), a place where you feel comfortable. As your fitness and confidence with exercise knowledge progresses, you may desire to move your workouts to a gym, or you may find that working out in the comfort of your home is best for you. It doesn’t matter where you are moving. What matters is that you are moving to build and sustain the strength, balance, flexibility, and cardiorespiratory fitness needed to live a healthy physical lifestyle.

Being active has been important to me throughout my life. However, as I aged I began to realize that I had to alter my view on what it meant to be an active healthy adult. I don’t need to be a triathlete, but I need to be strong, flexible, have good balance and cardio endurance. I saw a need to help others achieve and maintain these important components to living a healthy physical life as well. After serving several years as a teacher, I stepped out of the classroom and obtained my American Council on Exercise (ACE) personal trainers certification in 2017. I immediately began working on getting Active Daily Living established in Eau Claire, WI while also working as a trainer at the YMCA in La Crosse, WI. I found myself servicing clients that still needed additional rehabilitation following physical therapy for hip or knee replacements which prompted me to begin specializing in active aging.
As a trainer that specializes in active aging and rehabilitation, I am able to assist clients that need further help to regain strength, functional range of motion and endurance with precautions prescribed by their physician. I team with the client’s medical professionals (physician, physical therapist and/or occupational therapist) to design exercises specific to the client’s needs required to move forward. Active Daily Living cannot only help with physical rehabilitation, but help those that simply need additional guidance in getting back on track with age appropriate physical activities. Fall of 2019, I married my soulmate, and we began building our life together in Wisconsin’s beautiful driftless region off Dutch Hollow Lake, located only six miles from where I spent my childhood. I am so happy to be ‘home’. I look forward to having Active Daily Living help individuals in my homeland take the proper steps on their path to better health and well-being.
